Hello September, I’ve arrived! Yours, Sapphire.

September's birthstone is Sapphire. While blue sapphires are the most well-known, sapphires can come in a range of colors, including pink, yellow, green, and even colorless. The only color that is not classified as sapphire is red, which is considered a ruby.

Sapphires are often associated with wisdom, loyalty, nobility, and divine favor.  They are believed to bring protection, good fortune, and spiritual insight.

The tradition of birthstones dates back to ancient civilizations.  The modern list of birthstones was established by the American National Retail Jewelers Association in 1912, and sapphire was chosen for September.

Sapphires are believed to represent wisdom, loyalty, and nobility.  These qualities resonate with themes of a new beginning, which aligns with the change of seasons in September.

Also, September marks harvest time in many cultures, and sapphires, with their deep, rich colors, symbolize abundance and prosperity.

We love to indulge in gemstones, their symbolism, and their properties.  It’s a fun and thoughtful way to gift someone an intention. Giving sapphire jewelry to those born in September is popular, but it is also a great idea to give it to a new parent that just had a September baby.
